TEETH WHITENING

Dark foods/ drinks, smoking and many other factors can cause your teeth to loose their whiteness and luster… leaving you with a dull smile. That can all be changed in less than an hour. With the various teeth whitening options offered to you, at our dental centre, you could restore the whiteness and sparkle of your teeth, and can be assured of smiling all day! Most whitening procedures take about an hour in one-single sitting, and give you long lasting results. The one-hour is really worth it. With long lasting results, it boosts your self-esteem and makes you feel like a better person. The whitening procedures works on the basis of a dental peroxide bleaching your teeth in the presence of blue light, of high intensity. The light activates the peroxide and lightens the hue and value of your teeth.

Veneers
If a front tooth is chipped, damaged or discoloured, a thin layer (veneer) of ceramic material, eg porcelain, can be made to fit over it, or tooth-coloured composite material can be placed on the tooth. In some cases, if you have one or more teeth that are crooked, veneers of varying thicknesses can be fitted to help them appear straighter. On the first visit, you may have a local anaesthetic injection to numb the tooth, but this isn't always necessary. The surface of the tooth may be filed down slightly to allow for the small added thickness of the veneer. The dentist will also take a mould of the tooth in a putty-like material. This is sent to a laboratory where the veneer is made. The laboratory work often takes a week or two so, while the veneer is being made, you may have a slightly roughened, sensitive tooth. On the second visit, the dentist cements the veneer onto the front of the tooth.

Veneers can last for several years but they can be damaged just like normal teeth due to an accident, break or chip. The edge of a veneer may be fragile, so you should try not to bite your nails or tear sticky tape with your teeth.

Filling & Restoration
We in our centre allow the patients to choose various options available to restore the cavities in their teeth. Composite or tooth colored fillings, white Glass ionomer filings, silver amalgam fillings are a part of our options. In addition to the above options cavities can also be filled with ceramic inlays or ceramic onlays. Ceramic inlays and onlays are ceramic preparations to be cemented in the cavities of the teeth.

Implant

If teeth which cannot be saved are extracted then they have to be replaced at the earliest possible to maintain esthetic and functional harmony. Until now removable partial dentures or fixed bridges were the only options available. But lately we have the option of using dental implants on patients who are otherwise healthy. We are now entering the era of using Implants to replace the missing teeth.

Implants are titanium screws placed in the bone where a normal tooth would be and thus replaces the missing tooth in the best possible way. Once placed in the bone the screw fuses with the bone or becomes a part of the bone in about three months and is then capped with a ceramic crown ready to take the load of normal tooth.

Implant retained dentures is the best option in patients opting for complete dentures. These dentures stay in place very firmly.

Full Mouth Rehabilitation

Full Mouth Rehabilitation corrects imperfections in bite position and enhances the appearance of the smile. Anyone with short, worn teeth or those that are chipped and broken throughout the mouth would be an excellent candidate. Combining the science of Neuromuscular Dentistry with the artistry of Cosmetic Dentistry, Full Mouth Rehabilitation creates a smile that is functional, comfortable and beautiful.

Neuromuscular Dentistry measures and determines the optimal position of the jaw. Once determined, the jaw position is corrected with the use of an orthotic (a virtually invisible appliance that fits over the top of the lower teeth, gently repositioning the jaw) or the application of dental restorations, including porcelain veneers, crowns or onlays. As an added benefit, the restorations are exceptionally attractive and strong, enhancing the smile beautifully.

Crowns

Crown is an artificial replacement of the upper part of the tooth, to restore the function and look of the damaged one. A crown completely covers the tooth above the gum line and protects it. Types of crowns include the full porcelain crown, the porcelain-fused-to-metal crown and the all metal crowns.

Bridges

Bridges are placed in the mouth to replace missing or extracted teeth. Adjacent teeth if healthy are taken as supporting pillars for the missing span. These bridges are cemented permanently on the adjacent teeth. The bridge once cemented in place functions as a replacement for natural teeth. This procedure is completed in two visits spaced four to five days apart.

Orthodontics - Braces
Orthodontic treatment or braces is the treatment of choice to correct the malpositioned or crooked teeth, without altering the natural shape of the teeth. This is also the most effective treatment for most bite (occlusion) related problems. We use different orthodontic systems which are popularly used worldwide. All the systems being used are available in the form of durable metal braces or as highly esthetic tooth colored ceramic braces.

Metal Braces are the most common type. They are made of high grade stainless steel. Today's metal braces are smaller, more comfortable, and more attractive. Traditional metal braces are the first choice for most patients. These braces usually are the most durable and tend to move the teeth most efficiently, resulting in shorter treatment time.

Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal. Clear braces are much less visible than other types of brackets, especially when coupled with white wires, but they also are less durable, which means that treatment can take a little longer. The only drawback to ceramic brackets are that they are more fragile and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Dental Jewellery
A dental jewel is a diamond or another stone, which can be attached to your teeth to brighten up your smile. A dental jewel can be attached to your teeth with no consequences at all.

If you desire to endow your smile with a jewel, and the tooth to which the jewel should be attached are healthy, you can be a suitable candidate for this treatment. If you desire to endow your smile with a jewel, and the tooth to which the jewel should be attached are healthy, you can be a suitable candidate for this treatment. The application of a tooth jewel is a completely painless procedure, which does not require any anesthesia. The procedure does not affect the enamel of the tooth, which is a big advantage. The jewel is attached to the tooth with an adhesive substance, and therefore, it is possible to remove it or change it without consequences.
